Getting started
Roles and where everyone works
The two roles in Clox and the three ways to clock in. Managers run the web. Crews clock in from their phones. A shared tablet is optional.
Your first 10 minutes in Clox
Sign up, name your workspace, clock in for a test shift, invite your team. The minimum path from zero to running.
Getting set up as an employee
You got an invite to clock in with Clox. Accept it, sign in, tap Clock in. Five minutes. On iPhone, install Clox from the App Store.
Get your crew on the Clox app
Get your trade crew clocking in on a phone: install the Clox app from the App Store or Google Play, clock in from any phone browser, or set up a shared kiosk tablet.
Account security: passwords and sign-in
Reset a forgotten Clox password, change your password in Settings, turn on two-factor sign-in, and learn why your kiosk PIN is separate from your account.
Tracking time
How clocking in and out works
One-tap clock-in, mid-shift project switches, breaks, lunch deductions, and what happens if you forget to clock out.
Worksites: the location check (GPS and WiFi)
Lock clock-in to specific job sites with a GPS radius, the site's WiFi network, or both. Off-site punches are blocked, and suspicious punches that get through are flagged for your review.
PIN kiosk mode (shared device)
One tablet at the trailer, every employee punches in with their PIN. Built for crews where not everyone has a smartphone.
Building schedules
Plan shifts on the Clox Schedule page: create and assign one-time or weekly recurring shifts, what your crew sees, and how to require a scheduled shift to clock in.
Clock-in selfies
Clock-in selfies in Clox: turn on the front-camera photo at clock-in to deter buddy-punching, what your crew sees, and where managers review the photo.
Projects, clients, and tasks
Set up projects, clients, and tasks in Clox for job costing: create projects, attach clients, add tasks, control project members, and tag shifts at clock-in.
Team
Payroll
Exporting payroll (CSV + PDF)
Export clean payroll files for QuickBooks, Gusto, ADP, and Paychex, or a universal summary for any other provider, or sync hours straight into QuickBooks Online.
Approving employee timesheets
Review the week, correct or add a shift, approve or reject, and lock the pay period.
Overtime, double-time, and break rules
Set up overtime, double-time, auto-lunch, and paid-break rules in Clox: per-employee thresholds plus org-wide Standard or California rules and per-person rounding.
Reports and exports
Pull crew hours from the Clox Reports page: set a date range, switch h:mm or decimal, customize columns, and export CSV, Excel, PDF, or a payroll file for QuickBooks, Gusto, ADP, or Paychex.
Proof of presence
Hand a client or auditor a time record they can verify themselves. How Clox signs every punch into a tamper-evident ledger, how to export the PDF and the verifiable bundle, and what the public verifier checks.
