Getting started

Your first 10 minutes in Clox

Sign up, name your workspace, clock in for a test shift, invite your team. The minimum path from zero to running.

This article gets you from a fresh Clox account to having your first crew member punching in, in about 10 minutes.

Two roles, two devices
Managers and owners run Clox on the web at app.getclox.com. Your crew clocks in from their phones. This guide is the manager setup. Workers get the short version in Getting set up as an employee.

1. Create your account (60 seconds)

  1. Go to app.getclox.com
  2. Click Sign up
  3. Enter your email + a password (≥6 chars)
  4. Check your inbox for a confirmation link, then click it
  5. You'll land on the onboarding page

2. Name your workspace (30 seconds)

Type your company name as you want it to appear on payroll exports and invitations. You can rename it later in Settings → Organization.

3. Track your first shift (2 minutes)

  1. You'll land on Today, the page with the big "Start" button
  2. Tap Start. You're clocked in
  3. Wait a few seconds (or longer) and watch the timer tick
  4. Tap End. Your first shift is recorded
  5. Scroll down to see it in the history list
This is the entire core workflow: one tap in, one tap out. Everything else is optional.

4. Invite a teammate (2 minutes)

  1. Navigate to Team
  2. Click Invite employee
  3. Enter their email + name. Pick their role (Employee or Manager).
  4. You get a shareable link. Send it however works (text, email, in person)
  5. They open it, sign up with that email, and land on your team

What's next

How to invite your team
Email invitations, link sharing, role assignment, what employees see when they join.
Set up geo-fenced worksites
Lock clock-in to specific job-site locations, so punches have to come from on-site.
Export payroll (CSV + PDF)
Get clean data into QuickBooks, Gusto, or whatever payroll provider you use.
Proof of presence
Export a tamper-evident record of each punch that a client or auditor can verify themselves.
