Cookie Policy

Effective June 27, 2026

Clox is the time-tracking and workforce-management service operated by Clox Labs LLC ("Clox", "we", "us", or "our"). This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies, such as browser local storage, on our website and web application. Clox uses very few cookies and no advertising trackers. Read this policy together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly.

This page is informational and is not legal advice. It describes how Clox uses cookies and similar technologies and is read together with our Privacy Policy, which governs how personal data is handled.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It lets the site remember information between pages and visits, such as whether you are signed in. Similar technologies, including browser local storage, let a site keep small amounts of data in your browser for the same kinds of purposes.

In this policy, references to cookies include these similar technologies. We describe below which of them Clox uses and why.

2. Strictly necessary cookies and storage

Some cookies and storage are essential for the Service to work. Without them, core functions such as signing in and keeping your session active would not function. Because they are essential, they are exempt from consent and are always active.

  • Authentication and session: set by our authentication provider, Supabase, to sign you in and keep your session active as you move through the application.
  • Cookie-consent choice: we store your choice about analytics in your browser's local storage so that we can remember it and apply it on your next visit.
  • Security and abuse prevention: used to protect the Service, including rate limiting and other measures that help keep accounts secure.

3. Analytics cookies

We use PostHog for product analytics to understand how the Service is used and where to improve it. Analytics are off by default. PostHog only begins collecting data after you accept analytics in the consent banner. Analytics are optional, and the data is processed in the United States.

PostHog is a product-analytics tool, not an advertising tool. We do not use it to build advertising profiles or to track you across other websites.

4. What we do not use

Clox does not use advertising, marketing, retargeting, social-media, or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not set cookies to follow you across other websites, and we do not sell or share your information for advertising.

5. How to accept or decline

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you want to allow analytics. If you accept, PostHog is turned on. If you decline, analytics stay off and nothing about how Clox works changes. The strictly necessary cookies and storage described above remain active either way, because the Service needs them to function.

We remember your choice in your browser's local storage so you are not asked again on every visit. If you clear your browser storage or use a different browser or device, the banner will appear again so you can choose.

6. Managing cookies in your browser

You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or remove cookies and clear local storage. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may break sign-in and other core parts of the Service, so it may not work as expected if you do.

7. The mobile app

The Clox mobile app does not use cookies. It stores the information it needs, such as your session, in encrypted storage on your device rather than in browser cookies.

8. Maps

The worksite map loads its map tiles and address lookups from OpenStreetMap directly from your browser. As with any request your browser makes, OpenStreetMap receives standard request information such as your IP address. No advertising cookie is set through this feature.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we make a change, we will revise the effective date shown at the top of this page.
